Commuters traveling through Central Delhi need to plan their journey carefully for January 28 and 29. The authorities have announced specific restrictions to ensure security during the rehearsals and main event of the Beating Retreat Ceremony. Both the Delhi Metro and Traffic Police have placed curbs that will impact daily movement in high-security zones.

Metro Station Gate Closures

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has informed that exit gates at Udyog Bhawan and Central Secretariat stations will face partial closures. Specifically, the gates opening towards Rafi Marg will remain shut from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM on both days. While the metro service will continue running, passengers might have to use alternative gates for entry and exit. Additionally, security checks have been tightened at all stations, so it is better to carry some extra time to avoid delays in queues.

Traffic Restrictions Near Vijay Chowk

Drivers should avoid the Vijay Chowk area during the evening hours on January 28. The traffic police have blocked general traffic movement from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM to facilitate the full dress rehearsal. Key routes like Raisina Road and Kartavya Path will be closed for civilians during this window. People are advised to use Ring Road or other diversions to bypass the congestion. For real-time updates or help, commuters can call the helpline number 1095.
