Three lifeless bodies were discovered inside a parked car near the Peeragarhi flyover in West Delhi on Sunday afternoon. The police received a call around 3:50 PM regarding an unresponsive group in a locked vehicle. Upon arrival, officials found an elderly man in the driver’s seat and two others in the rear seat. The incident has caused shock in the area, and a detailed investigation is underway.
What did the police find at the scene?
The police team detected a strong poisonous odor immediately after opening the car. A soft drink bottle was recovered from the vehicle, which has been sent for forensic testing to check for toxic substances. Interestingly, cash, mobile phones, and jewelry were found intact, which has led the police to rule out robbery as a motive. There were no visible signs of any struggle inside the car.
Who are the victims?
The deceased have been identified as Randhir Singh, aged 76, who was in the driver’s seat, and Shiv Naresh Singh, aged 47, found in the back. Both men were residents of Baprola village. The third victim was a 40-year-old woman named Laxmi Devi from Jahangirpuri. While the two men were known acquaintances, the police are currently verifying how the woman was related to them. Families have been contacted for identification.
What is the current status of the investigation?
Authorities are looking into the possibility of a suicide pact but have not ruled out homicide yet. No suicide note was found at the spot. Investigators are scanning CCTV footage from the flyover area to see when the car arrived and if anyone else was near it. The bodies were sent for post-mortem on February 9 to confirm the exact cause of death.
