The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has shared a major update about the expansion of the Magenta Line. A new underground corridor is being constructed to improve connectivity across Central Delhi. This 9.9 km long route will directly connect Ramakrishna Ashram Marg to Indraprastha. The project is officially part of the Phase V (A) development and is designed to significantly save travel time for daily office goers and tourists.

Which stations are on this new route?

This new extension will introduce nine major stations to the network. The route passes through high-security and popular zones like the Central Secretariat and India Gate. This will help people traveling from West and North Delhi to reach Central Delhi without multiple interchanges. The entire stretch is underground.
