Residents living in Palwal city of Haryana, located next to Faridabad, have received a major update regarding civic amenities. The Municipal Council has prepared a comprehensive plan to illuminate every street, neighborhood, and colony of the city. Under this new initiative, 32,000 LED street lights and 30 high mast lights will be installed across the city. The project aims to change the look of the city with an estimated expenditure of about six crore rupees.
Details of Budget and Funding Sources
The total budget for this massive lighting project is set at 6 crore rupees. The funding is divided between the local body and corporate support. The Municipal Council will provide 1 crore rupees from its own funds. The remaining 5 crore rupees will be arranged through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds.

Timeline and Installation Locations
The survey work for installing these lights has been almost completed by the Municipal Council. According to officials and the Council President Dr. Yashpal, the target is to complete the installation of most lights by the end of March 2026. Priority will be given to main roads and densely populated areas first.
High mast lights will be placed at major intersections, bus stands, big markets, and crowded public places. The LED lights are meant for internal streets and colonies to remove darkness. This step is also taken to improve safety and reduce incidents of theft or crime in the city.
