French President Emmanuel Macron will visit India from February 17 to February 19, 2026. The Ministry of External Affairs officially announced this schedule on Tuesday. He is coming at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for an official State Visit. The two leaders will focus on strategic partnerships and future technology during this trip.
What are the Key Plans for the Visit?
President Macron will arrive in New Delhi on February 17 for bilateral discussions. He is also scheduled to visit Mumbai to discuss innovation and trade opportunities. On February 19, he will attend the AI Impact Summit in New Delhi. The leaders will also launch the ‘India-France Year of Innovation’ to be celebrated throughout 2026.
Is a New Rafale Deal Expected?
There is a strong possibility of a major defense agreement during this time. Reports state that the Defence Ministry might clear a ₹3.25 lakh crore deal for 114 Rafale fighter jets before the visit. This deal falls under the Multi-Role Fighter Aircraft programme. Apart from defense, both countries will discuss the Free Trade Agreement to improve business relations between India and Europe.
