Details of the Infrastructure Deal

This collaboration involves significant investment in India’s digital infrastructure. TCS and TPG are investing up to ₹18,000 crore ($2.1 billion) in HyperVault, a new data center venture where TCS holds a 51% stake. OpenAI has signed on as the first anchor tenant for this infrastructure. The partnership includes a multi-year agreement for 100 megawatts (MW) of data center capacity in India, which helps ensure that data is processed locally.

Impact on Employees and Skilling

The deal focuses on both business efficiency and social impact. Tata Group will roll out ChatGPT Enterprise to hundreds of thousands of employees to improve productivity. Beyond corporate use, TCS and the OpenAI Foundation have committed to a social initiative to train one million Indian youth in AI skills. This move aims to prepare the next generation for the growing demand in the artificial intelligence sector.
