A major insurance fraud racket has been busted in Gurugram following a joint operation by the Chief Minister’s Flying Squad and the local police. Authorities raided Galaxy One Hospital located in Nihal Colony, New Palam Vihar. The police have arrested three hospital staff members who were allegedly involved in processing fake health insurance claims worth huge amounts.
Who has been arrested in this case?
The raid was conducted on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, leading to immediate arrests. The three accused have been identified as Sapna and Varsha, who are residents of Gurugram, and Gaurav, who is from Rajasthan. These employees were working at the hospital and were picked up after the authorities found evidence of their involvement in the scam. The initial complaint was lodged at the Bajghera police station on February 14.
How big was the insurance scam?
According to the police, the estimated fraud amount detected so far is approximately ₹1 crore. During the search operation, the investigating team recovered nearly 60 fake insurance claim files. These files were used to claim money from roughly 25 different insurance firms. The staff allegedly prepared forged medical documents to show patients were admitted when they were not, simply to get payouts from insurance companies.
What action is being taken now?
ACP (West) Abhilaksh Joshi stated that the investigation is ongoing and the fraud amount might increase as they check more files. The police are currently analyzing the hospital records to determine if doctors or higher management were also part of this racket. An FIR has been registered, and the three arrested staff members are being interrogated to find out if there are other agents involved in this network.
