He reportedly suffered critical injuries while trying to enter the burning premises to save his father. Another victim, 21-year-old factory worker Pradeep Kumar from Sanjay Colony, also passed away during treatment.
Doctors are currently treating several other injured persons who remain in critical condition. This includes two brave fire brigade personnel, Ranveer and Bhavichand, who sustained over 50% burns when a powerful explosion threw them into the air during the rescue operation.
Investigation and Safety Violations
Official reports indicate serious lapses in safety protocols at the site. The initial probe suggests that a spark from a CNC machine in the Shiv Steel unit landed in a drum full of lubricants in the adjacent Kalkaji Lubricants unit, causing a chain reaction of explosions.
Authorities have discovered that the units had been operating for 19 years without a mandatory Fire No-Objection Certificate (NOC). Following these findings, the police have registered an FIR against the owners under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for voluntarily causing hurt and negligence.
- Probe Team: A seven-member team led by the SDM is investigating the incident.
- Legal Charges: Case filed under sections 115(2), 118(1), and 124(1) of the BNS.
- Cause: Explosions triggered by chemical drums lacking proper storage safety.
