How the accused trapped the student?

The victim, originally from the Bhelupur area of Varanasi, moved to Lucknow in December 2022 to prepare for the NEET exam. She was staying in a rented accommodation in the Naubasta area of Chinhat. In July 2023, she booked a cab to travel to her coaching center in Gomti Nagar, where she met the driver, Aditya Yadav.

Aditya, a resident of Barabanki, befriended the student by offering to pick her up and drop her off daily. He gained her trust by promising to teach her car driving for free. The victim has alleged that during this period, the accused gave her a spiked drink, raped her, and then trapped her emotionally to continue the exploitation.

Fake marriage and police action

When the student became pregnant, the accused performed a marriage ceremony in a temple, which later turned out to be a sham. Recently, the victim gave birth to a daughter. After the baby was born, Aditya allegedly abandoned both the mother and the child in a rented room in February 2026 and fled from the location.

The victim filed a complaint with the Chinhat police around February 19. Station House Officer Dinesh Chandra Mishra confirmed that a case has been registered under sections for rape and fraud. Police teams are currently raiding suspected hideouts in Barabanki to locate the absconding driver.
