The long wait for a fast and comfortable commute between Delhi and Meerut is finally over. The complete 82.15 km Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut corridor of the Namo Bharat train is now fully operational for the general public. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the entire stretch on February 22, 2026, marking a historic moment for regional connectivity. Trains are now running end-to-end from Sarai Kale Khan in Delhi to Modipuram in Meerut, covering the distance in just 55 to 58 minutes. This is a massive relief for daily commuters who earlier spent hours stuck in road traffic.

What are the Ticket Prices and Train Timings?

The fare structure has been designed to be affordable for the common man while offering options for luxury. For a full journey from Delhi to Meerut, a standard class ticket costs ₹210, while the Premium Class ticket is priced at ₹400. The minimum fare for shorter distances starts at just ₹20. Officials state that these fares are approximately 30% cheaper than the cost of driving a private CNG car.

The trains run on a reliable schedule to suit office goers and students. Operations start at 6:00 AM and continue until 10:00 PM from Monday to Saturday. On Sundays, the service begins a bit later at 8:00 AM. You do not have to wait long for a train, as they arrive every 10 to 15 minutes. During peak rush hours, the frequency increases to every 5 to 8 minutes. Tickets can be easily booked via the RRTS Connect app, WhatsApp, or by using the NCMC card.
