In a tragic incident reported from the Loni area of Ghaziabad, a 26-year-old youth named Vishal Kumar was allegedly murdered by his brother-in-law, Rahul Kumar, on Monday evening. The incident took place in the Sonia Nagar colony under the jurisdiction of the Border Police Station. According to the police, the victim had gone to his sister’s house to intervene in a domestic dispute when the accused attacked him with a pair of scissors.

Details of the Dispute and Fatal Attack
The conflict reportedly started over household chores between the accused’s wife, Tina, and her mother-in-law, Lakshmi. As the argument escalated, Rahul physically assaulted his wife. Tina then called her brother, Vishal, who resided in East Jawahar Nagar, for help. When Vishal arrived at the residence to mediate, a heated confrontation broke out between the two men. In a fit of rage, Rahul picked up a pair of scissors and stabbed Vishal multiple times in the chest and abdomen.

Attempted Cover-up and Police Action
Following the attack, Vishal was rushed to GTB Hospital in Delhi where he was declared dead on arrival. Instead of informing the police, the family reportedly attempted to perform a secret cremation. They placed the body in a small commercial vehicle and were heading to the cremation ground when local neighbors alerted the authorities. Police teams intercepted the vehicle, stopped the cremation process, and seized the body for a mandatory autopsy.
ACP Gyan Prakash Rai of the Ankur Vihar Circle stated that the police are currently investigating the matter and conducting raids to apprehend the accused, Rahul, who fled the scene immediately after the incident. Although the victim’s father initially hesitated to file a formal complaint, the police have confirmed they will proceed with an FIR based on the autopsy findings and police cognisance. Charges regarding the destruction of evidence are also being considered against those involved in the attempted secret cremation.
