delhibreakings faridabad 3 new cetp plants approved budget 927 crore Faridabad News: Govt Approves 927 Crore for 3 New Water Treatment Plants to Help Industries

The Haryana government has taken a major step to tackle industrial pollution and water shortage in Faridabad. A massive budget of Rs 926.96 crore has been finalized to set up three Common Effluent Treatment Plants (CETP) across the district. The decision was confirmed in a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi. These plants will treat the dirty water coming from factories so it can be reused by the industries themselves, which will help save fresh drinking water for common people.

Locations and Capacity of New Plants

The government has identified three specific villages for these plants based on the industrial load in the area. The Pratapgarh plant will be the largest among them. HSIIDC has already prepared the Detailed Project Report (DPR), and the work is expected to start soon after the tender process.

Location Capacity (MLD) Sectors Covered
Pratapgarh 50 MLD Sec 24, 25, 52A, 56-59, 147-148, 150-153, 155
Mirzapur 25 MLD Sec 4, 5, 6, 71, 74
Badshahpur 15 MLD Sec 27 (A-D), 31, 32, 35, 36, 38, 45

Cost Sharing and Future Plans

The funding for this huge project has been divided among different government departments to ensure smooth execution. The Town and Country Planning (TCP) Department will bear 50% of the construction cost. The remaining 50% will be shared equally by HSIIDC and HSVP.

Once the plants are operational, the running costs will initially be handled by HSIIDC. Later, this expense will be reimbursed and shared equally by four agencies: MCF, FMDA, HSIIDC, and HSVP. This project aims to achieve ‘Zero Liquid Discharge,’ ensuring that no untreated industrial waste flows into the Yamuna river.
