Apurva Verma, a native of Narkatiaganj in Bihar, has brought pride to her hometown by securing All India Rank 42 in the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2025. Currently serving as an Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) in Delhi, she has successfully upgraded her service to the Indian Administrative Service (IAS). The Union Public Service Commission announced the final results on March 6, 2026.
Who is Apurva Verma?
Apurva Verma comes from a well-educated family in West Champaran. She completed her schooling at DPS Bokaro and went on to graduate in engineering from NIT Manipur. Her father, Ajit Kumar Verma, is an engineer at the Bokaro Steel Plant, and her grandfather was a respected educationist.
She had previously cracked the civil services exam and was allotted the Indian Police Service (IPS) in the 2022 batch. While working as an ACP in Delhi, she managed her time effectively to prepare for the exam again. Her dedication has now paid off as she prepares to join the administrative service.
UPSC 2025 Result Highlights
The commission recommended a total of 958 candidates for appointment to various services this year. Anuj Agnihotri topped the list by securing the first rank. The total number of reported vacancies for the 2025 cycle stood at 1,087.
Candidates can expect their official mark sheets to be uploaded on the UPSC website within 15 days. For officers like Apurva who are already in service, the rules allow them to resign from their current post to join the new service upon allocation.
