The Noida Police have solved the murder case of a 39-year-old property dealer who was shot dead on the day of Holi. The incident took place inside the shopping complex area of Ivy County society in Sector 75. The victim, identified as Sahil Singhal, was allegedly killed over a dispute related to an extramarital affair. Police have arrested three adults and detained one minor in connection with the crime within 24 hours of the incident.

What was the reason behind the murder?

According to the police investigation, the victim Sahil Singhal had been in a relationship with a woman named Priya Singh for about four years. Priya, a resident of Ghaziabad, was reportedly pressuring Sahil to divorce his wife and marry her. However, Sahil was not agreeing to this demand, which created tension between them. The conflict escalated recently when the woman’s family posted pictures of the couple on social media.

On Wednesday, the accused visited the society under the pretext of a meeting. An argument broke out in the presence of the victim’s wife. During this altercation, Priya’s brother Nikhil allegedly took out a pistol and shot Sahil multiple times in the abdomen. Police officials confirmed that the refusal to marry was the main trigger for the deadly attack on the festival day.

Who are the accused and what charges do they face?

The police acted swiftly and arrested three adults. The arrested individuals are Priya Singh (28), and her two brothers, Labbu alias Lokendra Solanki (26) and Nikhil Solanki (24). A 16-year-old neighbor who accompanied them has also been detained. Officials have recovered the pistol used in the crime, along with two cartridges and the vehicle used by the accused to reach the spot.

Additional DCP Manisha Singh stated that the accused have been booked under strict sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including Section 103(1) for murder and Section 3(5) for joint criminal liability. Charges under the Arms Act have also been applied for illegal possession and use of a firearm. The three adults have been sent to jail, while the minor has been sent to a juvenile correctional home.
