The Haryana Police has launched a significant operation to locate and arrest popular rapper Aditya Pratik Singh Sisodia, widely known as Badshah. Why has the FIR been filed against Badshah?
The legal trouble for the rapper began after social activist Abhay Chaudhary filed a complaint regarding the content of the song released on March 1, 2026. The FIR invokes Section 296 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which deals with obscene acts and songs in public spaces. Additionally, charges have been pressed under Sections 3 and 4 of the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act, 1986.
The primary objections focus on the lyrics and visuals used in the music video. Phrases like “Aaya Badshah doli chadhane, in sabki ghodi banane” have been flagged as derogatory toward women. Furthermore, the video depicts minor girls in school uniforms neglecting their studies and throwing bags, which authorities and the Haryana State Commission for Women (HSCW) found highly inappropriate and offensive to cultural values.

In response to the FIR, the Panchkula Police have removed the song from YouTube and issued notices to other social media platforms like Instagram and X to take down related content. The authorities have also initiated the process for a Look Out Circular (LOC) to prevent the rapper from leaving the country while the investigation is ongoing.
