The Public Works Department (PWD) in Delhi has officially launched a QR code-based feedback system for all road-related projects across the city. This new initiative allows citizens to monitor road construction, strengthening, and recarpeting work in their areas. By scanning these codes placed on display boards, residents can now directly provide feedback or file complaints regarding the quality of the infrastructure being built in their neighborhoods.

What Information Can Citizens Access via QR Codes?

The QR codes are linked to detailed project databases to ensure total transparency. When a user scans the code on the display board, they can view specific details about the ongoing or completed road work. This system is designed to keep the public informed about how tax money is used for city infrastructure. The following details are available through the scan:

• Name and total length of the specific road project.
• The date when the last strengthening work was carried out.
• Name of the contractor or agency responsible for the construction.
• Total sanctioned cost of the project.
• Defect liability period, indicating the contractor responsibility duration.

How the QR Feedback System Will Work in Delhi

The Delhi government has set strict timelines and rules for the PWD divisions to follow regarding these feedback boards to ensure they are accessible to everyone. Display boards will be placed at prominent locations such as bus queue shelters and major intersections. PWD Minister Parvesh Verma stated that this creates a direct interface between the department and the public to improve quality through real-time feedback.
