A shocking incident of domestic violence has emerged from Kaithal, Haryana, where a drug addict husband allegedly murdered his 30-year-old wife. The horrific incident took place late Friday night, March 20, 2026, in the Valmiki Basti area near Chandana Gate. The accused, identified as Arun, reportedly strangled his wife Shalu with a dupatta while their minor children watched in terror.

How did the Kaithal murder incident unfold?
Arun, who was reportedly addicted to drugs including injections and Chitta, arrived home in an intoxicated state and started a heated argument with Shalu. In a fit of rage, he used a dupatta to strangle her. Shalu’s two children, a 7-year-old daughter Mayura and a 5-year-old son Varun, were present in the room during the murder. After committing the crime, Arun stayed in the house with the body throughout the night.
The next morning, around 10 AM, Arun called his mother-in-law, Sunita Devi, and coldly informed her that her daughter was dead. When she didn’t believe him initially, he reportedly threatened to send a photo of the body. He also informed his sister-in-law, Damini, before fleeing the spot. The police were informed shortly after, and they reached the crime scene to take control of the situation.
