Details of the incident and the cause of fire
According to initial investigations, the fire started on the ground floor due to a short-circuit near a water motor. The flames spread rapidly through the stairwell as cosmetic items and a motorcycle stored there caught fire. This blocked the exit path for the residents living on the upper floors. North-West District DCP Akanksha Yadav stated that the police were alerted at 7:10 AM and the fire was brought under control after immediate intervention by the fire department.
