How Did The Family Escape The Fire?
The fire broke out in their ground floor-plus-three-storey building, making the staircase impassable. Facing immediate danger, the family members made their way to the terrace. What Caused The Fire And Who Was Injured?
Delhi Fire Services officials responded to a call at 7:10 AM from Anaj Mandi, deploying three fire tenders. They brought the fire under control within an hour. A senior police officer indicated that the fire likely began due to a short circuit near an electric water motor. Cosmetic items stored near the staircase, along with a motorcycle parked nearby, were believed to have intensified the fire.
The injured family members include Pritam Lal (38), his mother Anita Devi (50), his brother Bharat Lal (32), Bharat’s wife Moni (27), Vandana (24), and their young sister Soumya (three-and-a-half-year-old). All sustained burn injuries ranging from 15% to 25%.
