The Delhi Police Crime Branch has successfully busted a racket involved in the illegal diversion and sale of government-supplied medicines. These medicines, clearly marked for free distribution in government hospitals, were being transported for sale in the private market. Three men were detained during the operation on April 2, 2026, and a large quantity of medical supplies was recovered from their possession.

Recovery Details and Police Action at Tis Hazari
The police team intercepted a car and a tempo at Rajendra Market in the Tis Hazari area following a specific tip-off. During the search, officers found 2 boxes of medicines in the car and 97 boxes in the tempo, totaling 99 boxes. The detained individuals have been identified as 53-year-old Neeraj Kumar, 46-year-old Sushil, and 47-year-old Laxman Mukhia. The investigation revealed that the stock was being moved to Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh for illegal sale.
Involvement of Hospital Staff and Legal Action
During the initial probe, it was found that a pharmacy store in-charge at a government hospital might be involved in the scam. Neeraj Kumar allegedly admitted to working with the staff member to procure the medicines illegally from the hospital pharmacy. A case has been registered under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) including criminal breach of trust, cheating, and criminal conspiracy. The police are continuing their investigation to identify more people involved in this network.
