Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has assured the residents of Delhi that there is no shortage of LPG cylinders in the national capital. While addressing the public on April 4, 2026, she requested citizens not to indulge in panic buying or create unnecessary crowds at agencies. The government has confirmed that home deliveries will continue as per the schedule and the supply chain remains under control.
Current Status of LPG Delivery and Supply in Delhi
The Delhi government shared data to show that the supply of domestic and commercial LPG is stable and sufficient. On April 3, the oil marketing companies delivered 1,26,379 cylinders against 1,11,504 bookings, which indicates that more cylinders were delivered than booked on that day. Currently, the average time for a domestic cylinder delivery in Delhi is recorded at 4.37 days. Officials from the Food and Civil Supplies Department have also advised people in areas where PNG is available to switch to piped gas to avoid any future impact on LPG cylinder supply.
Action Against Black Marketing and Helpline Numbers
To stop illegal hoarding and black marketing of cylinders, the Delhi government has taken strict measures and established a dedicated control room. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation to ensure that no citizen faces a genuine crisis due to artificial shortages. The following actions and resources have been made available:
- Control Room Numbers: Citizens can report complaints or black marketing at 011-23379836 or 8383824659.
- Police Raids: Delhi Police conducted 22 raids across the city based on reliable intelligence.
- Legal Action: An FIR was registered in the North Rohini area of Rohini district where 6 illegally stored cylinders were recovered.
- Supply Assurance: Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) are working with the administration to maintain a smooth flow of domestic gas.
