The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) announced a massive campaign to unite and empower the Hindu community across Delhi. This initiative follows the recent murder of a Hindu youth in Uttam Nagar and subsequent communal tension. The campaign includes both digital and ground-level activities, such as weekly collective prayers and self-defense training for the youth.
Major Highlights of the VHP Campaign
- Collective Hanuman Chalisa: Every Tuesday at 7:00 PM at local temples, markets, and public places to foster spiritual strength.
- Self-Defense Training: Distribution of Trishul and Katar to youth for self-protection under the Trishul Diksha program.
- Helpline App: A new digital platform for community assistance and security to be managed by VHP and Bajrang Dal.
- Legal Compliance: Trishuls are designed to be one centimeter shorter than prohibited limits to ensure they stay outside the Arms Act.
Renaming Demand and Law Order Concerns
VHP leaders expressed deep concern over the law and order situation in areas like Uttam Nagar and Badarpur. The organization officially demanded that Delhi be renamed Indraprastha, a move that has received support from BJP MP Praveen Khandelwal. Dr. Surendra Jain and other senior officials have called for strict action against those involved in recent violence. The campaign aims to bring social unity through ground-level coordination between workers.
VHP Delhi President Kapil Khanna and State Secretary Surendra Gupta stated that the goal is to organize and empower the society. The Indraprastha Prant monthly meeting in Old Rajinder Nagar served as the platform for these announcements. The organization plans to reach every household through digital and physical outreach programs in the coming months.
