The Delhi Police has officially announced the rankings of the best performing police stations in the capital for this year. The announcement comes ahead of the 79th Raising Day parade scheduled for February 16, 2026. The Badarpur Police Station in the South-East district has secured the first position. Shahdara Police Station took the second spot, making it the first district to stay in the top 3 for two consecutive years. Why was Badarpur chosen as the top station?
The top ranking for Badarpur is largely attributed to the success of ‘Operation Aghat’. This special drive was launched in three phases (I, II, and III) under the leadership of DCP Hemant Tiwari. The main goal was to crack down on organized crime, street gangs, and local criminals. Through this operation, the team successfully seized a significant amount of illegal weapons like pistols and knives, along with illicit liquor and drugs.
The selection process for the best station was not just about catching criminals. The officials looked at several parameters before finalizing the list. These included the case detection rate, how quickly investigation files were disposed of, and the quality of data entry in the CCTNS system. Public feedback, especially regarding the handling of complaints from women, children, and senior citizens, played a major role in the final score.
What rewards will the officers receive?
To honor the hard work of the police force, several awards will be distributed during the Raising Day parade. Based on the exceptional performance in the South-East district, 9 officers have been selected for Out-of-Turn Promotions (OTP). This is given for acts of bravery and extraordinary service. Apart from promotions, other staff members will also be recognized for their dedication.
- Asadharan Karya Puraskar: 29 police personnel have been chosen for this special award for their outstanding work.
- Commissioner Commendation Roll: 18 staff members will receive this commendation from the Police Commissioner.
- Parade Ceremony: All awards will be officially handed over on February 16, 2026.
