A tragic road accident occurred on NH-27 in the Madhubani district of Bihar late Wednesday night, claiming the lives of four individuals. A speeding Scorpio car, registered in Haryana, lost control and collided with a truck near Khopa Chowk under the Phulparas police station area. Police officials have confirmed that the victims were residents of Kurukshetra and were traveling through the state when the mishap occurred.

How did the accident happen near Phulparas?

According to the Phulparas Police Station In-charge Vikram Acharya, the accident took place when the Scorpio lost balance and crashed through the road divider. It is suspected that the driver might have dozed off or lost control due to high speed.

After crossing the divider, the car entered the opposite lane and was hit by a truck coming from the front. The collision was so severe that the vehicle was badly damaged. One person died at the scene, while three others succumbed to their injuries while being taken to the Jhanjharpur Sub-divisional Hospital.

Who are the victims and what is the current status?

The police have identified most of the victims as residents of Kurukshetra, Haryana. The deceased include Sanjeev Kumar, Vikas, and Kapil. Efforts are on to identify the fourth deceased person. The families have been contacted based on the vehicle registration details.

Three other passengers in the car sustained critical injuries. They were initially treated locally but have now been referred to DMCH (Darbhanga Medical College and Hospital) for advanced care. The police have seized the truck and an FIR is being registered regarding the incident.
