Details of the Bribery Cases and CBI Action

The first case involves the MCD Shahdara North Zone, where a Beldar and a Junior Engineer were arrested. They allegedly demanded 80,000 rupees to stop the demolition of a house that had been recently repaired. Acting on a complaint filed on March 31, the CBI laid a trap and caught the Beldar red-handed while accepting 75,000 rupees on behalf of himself and the Junior Engineer.

The second case was reported from the ASI Jantar Mantar sub-division. A Conservation Assistant and a Monument Attendant were arrested for demanding a bribe of 3.50 lakh rupees. This amount was allegedly asked for to cancel a notice issued on March 24 and to allow the complainant to continue their work. The CBI caught the Monument Attendant while he was accepting an advance payment of 1 lakh rupees on April 1.
