The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has taken stern action against Uttarakhand Public School located in Sector 56, Noida. The board has officially cancelled the affiliation of the school up to the Senior Secondary level. This order has been issued with immediate effect, meaning the school administration can no longer conduct classes for grades 9 through 12. This decision comes after a long investigation into serious complaints lodged by the teaching staff against the school management.
Why was the school’s recognition cancelled?
The action against the school is based on severe allegations regarding the treatment of its staff. Teachers had filed complaints with both the CBSE and the court, accusing the school management of harassment. There were specific and serious charges regarding the exploitation of female teachers working at the institution.
Taking note of these complaints, the CBSE appointed an investigation committee to probe the matter. The committee conducted a thorough inquiry and submitted its report. The findings confirmed that the allegations made by the teachers were true and substantiated. The school was also found to be in violation of the CBSE Affiliation Bye-Laws, leading to this strict penalty.
What will happen to the students now?
With the cancellation of affiliation, the primary concern is the academic future of the students enrolled in the senior classes. The board has issued clear instructions to ensure that students do not face academic loss due to the faults of the management.
The following steps are being taken for the students:
- Class Transfer: Students currently studying in Class 9 and Class 11 will be shifted to other nearby CBSE-affiliated schools.
- Exam Registration: The school has lost its authority to register any students for board examinations.
- Teaching Ban: The school is legally barred from teaching Class 9, 10, 11, and 12 effective immediately.
