The aircraft involved was a Beechcraft 1900D with registration number HK-4709. It departed from Camilo Daza International Airport at 11:42 AM local time, intending to fly to Ocaña. However, air traffic control lost contact with the plane at 11:54 AM. The wreckage was eventually found in the Norte de Santander province.
Officials have confirmed that 13 passengers and 2 crew members died in the crash. Among the victims were Congressman Diógenes Quintero Amaya and social leader Carlos Salcedo.
