Simplified Rules for Property Registration
One of the biggest changes in the new policy is the removal of the requirement to submit a layout plan for buildings that are already constructed. Residents can now apply for regularization using building plans made by any architect registered with the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD). This change makes the process faster and more affordable for the common man. The policy covers residential buildings and small commercial shops up to 20 square meters in size.

While old buildings get relief, all new constructions in these colonies will now require mandatory approval from the MCD. The Municipal Corporation will conduct regular drone surveys to identify any new building activity and check for violations. CM Rekha Gupta described this as the first step towards planned development in the city. However, colonies located in the O Zone, forest areas, or ridge land are still excluded from this scheme and will not be regularized under the current framework.
