Delhi Assembly Security Breach: Masked Man Crashes UP Number Tata Sierra into Gates, Driver Arrested

The Delhi Assembly witnessed a major security breach on Monday afternoon when a car crashed through the main iron gates. A masked man driving a white vehicle managed to enter the high-security premises around 2:00 PM. The incident has raised serious questions about the safety measures currently in place at the government building after the car remained inside the complex for about five minutes.

Details of the Incident and Vehicle Involved

The vehicle involved was a white Tata Sierra with a Uttar Pradesh registration number. It entered through Gate Number 2 after breaking the iron barrier and the main gate. The driver reportedly spent about five minutes inside the complex and reached the area near Speaker Vijendra Gupta’s office. Reports indicate that the individual placed a bouquet there and may have thrown ink on the Speaker’s car before leaving the spot.

Police Action and Security Audit Orders

Delhi Police confirmed that the situation is now under control and the suspect has been arrested within a few hours of the event. The car was recovered shortly after the incident took place. Speaker Vijendra Gupta has asked for a complete report from the Home Department and senior police officers regarding the lapse. He also directed a fresh security audit of the Assembly to strengthen the existing protocols. This event comes shortly after the Assembly received bomb threats, leading to increased patrolling in the area.
