A shocking incident has emerged from the Bawana Industrial Area in Delhi where a 35-year-old businessman was shot dead in broad daylight. The victim, identified as Vaibhav Gandhi, was killed outside his factory on Monday afternoon. How did the incident take place?

Vaibhav Gandhi, who owned a plastic dana factory in Sector-4 of Bawana, was heading to his workplace around 12:30 PM on Monday. As he approached the factory, two men riding a motorcycle intercepted him. Reports suggest that when Vaibhav tried to run away from the spot, the attackers fired two shots at him. He was immediately taken to a hospital but was declared dead by the doctors. The attackers also fled with his bag, which contained a laptop, leading the police to first suspect a looting attempt.

What did the gang claim on social media?

On Tuesday morning, a social media post surfaced from accounts linked to Randeep Malik and Anil Pandit. These individuals are allegedly associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and are said to be operating from abroad. The post stated that they have “exited Vaibhav from life” because he was interfering during their extortion calls. The message also included a warning for others, stating that anyone who tries to come in between their work will face a similar fate.

What is the current status of the investigation?

The Delhi Police have registered an FIR under Section 103 (Murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and relevant sections of the Arms Act. Following the online claim, the investigation has now shifted towards the angle of targeted killing and extortion. Several police teams are scanning CCTV footage from the industrial area to identify the shooters.
