The iconic double-decker buses are making a grand comeback on Delhi roads starting this Friday. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta is set to flag off the new fleet of electric open-top buses from the historic Vijay Chowk. This launch marks the first anniversary of the current Delhi government and aims to boost tourism while promoting sustainable mobility in the capital.

Ticket Prices and Timings
The service is designed primarily as an evening tour to let tourists enjoy the illuminated monuments of Lutyens’ Delhi. The tours will begin after 6 PM when the museums usually close. This timing allows visitors to see the city lights in a new way. The pricing has been kept standard for domestic tourists.
- Adult Fare: ₹500 per person
- Child Fare (6-12 years): ₹300 per child
Route and Monuments Covered
These buses will cover specific routes focusing on major landmarks in the heart of the city. A guide will be present on the bus to explain the history and significance of these sites during the journey. The bus starts from Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya and covers the following stops:
- Vijay Chowk and Kartavya Path
- National War Memorial
- Bharat Mandapam
- New Parliament House Complex
- Delhi Haat
Bus Features and Capacity
Manufactured by Ashok Leyland, these buses have been handed over to the tourism department under a CSR initiative. The lower deck of the bus is fully air-conditioned for passenger comfort during the ride. The upper deck is open-top, providing a clear view of the surroundings. Each bus has a seating capacity of more than 63 passengers.
