The Delhi government has distributed scholarships to children of construction workers on the death anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya. A total sum of over ₹12 crore was released to support the education of thousands of students. This event took place at Thyagraj Stadium where officials honored the workforce that builds the city.
Details of the scholarship distribution
Under this initiative, financial assistance of ₹12 crore 40 lakh has been provided. This money will directly benefit more than 15,000 children of registered construction workers. These students are currently studying in 857 different schools across Delhi. The administration emphasized that helping these children with their education is a step towards securing their future.
Development works for villages
Along with the scholarship distribution, the government also focused on rural development within the capital. Multiple development projects for Delhi villages were inaugurated, and foundation stones were laid at the same event. Officials stated that the government is working with the resolve of ‘Antyodaya’ to improve facilities for worker families and strengthen their livelihoods.
