A tragic accident occurred on the Delhi-Meerut Expressway near Noida Sector 62 on the night between Monday and Tuesday. Two people died on the spot while they were trying to help a driver who was stuck inside his vehicle after a crash. The incident took place around 11:00 PM when a speeding vegetable truck hit the group of people standing on the road.

How did the multiple collision happen?

The trouble started when a pickup van hit a stationary truck on the fast lane of the expressway. The driver of the pickup van, Hari Om, got his foot stuck in the steering wheel and could not get out. Seeing this, the driver of the first truck, Devendra, and a passing truck driver named Govind Chauhan stopped to help him.

While these people were trying to pull Hari Om out of the damaged van, a third truck loaded with vegetables came from behind at high speed. This truck rammed into the standing vehicles and the people helping on the road. The impact was severe, causing fatal injuries to the rescuers.

Victims and police investigation

The police have identified the deceased as Devendra (34) from Shahjahanpur and Govind Chauhan (35) from Azamgarh. Three other people, including the originally trapped driver Hari Om, suffered injuries. They were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
