Daily commuters traveling on the Blue Line between Delhi and Noida can finally expect a smoother journey starting today. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has officially announced the completion of major overhauling works on escalators at five key stations. This restoration comes after a scheduled maintenance period that began in mid-January, which had temporarily forced passengers to use stairs or lifts.
Which stations have fully operational escalators now?
According to the official update released on February 11, 2026, the technical teams have finished the safety checks and repairs. The escalators are now open for public use at the following locations:
- Akshardham: Ground to Concourse level
- New Ashok Nagar: Ground to Concourse level
- Noida Sector-15: Ground to Concourse level
- Noida Sector-16: Platform-1 to Concourse level
- Noida Sector-18: Platform-1 to Concourse level
How long did the maintenance take?
The DMRC initiated this heavy maintenance work around January 19–20, 2026, to ensure the long-term safety and reliability of the machinery. During this period, passengers were advised to plan extra travel time. Authorities have confirmed that the overhauling meets updated safety standards, and the facilities are back to normal operation without any changes to the fare.
