Which lines will start early on Sunday?

Usually, metro services on Sundays follow a relaxed schedule, but this time, trains on Phase-III lines will start running from 6:00 AM instead of the usual 7:00 AM. This special arrangement is made to help people travel easily for the inauguration event and manage the expected crowd.

  • Line 7 (Pink Line): Majlis Park to Shiv Vihar.
  • Line 8 (Magenta Line): Botanical Garden to Janakpuri West (including Krishna Park Extension).
  • Line 9 (Grey Line): Dwarka to Dhansa Bus Stand.

Passengers should note that services on all other lines will continue to operate as per their regular Sunday timetable. There is no change in fares for this early service.

PM Modi to inaugurate Ring Metro and other projects

The early start is linked to a major event where PM Narendra Modi will officially open the 12.3 km section between Majlis Park and Maujpur-Babarpur. This specific stretch completes Delhi’s first “Ring Metro”, creating a 71.56 km loop that connects various parts of the city. He will also open the Deepali Chowk to Majlis Park section on the Magenta Line.

Additionally, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for three new corridors under Phase-V (A), which includes the R.K. Ashram Marg to Indraprastha route and extensions to the Golden Line. The total value of these projects is around ₹18,300 crore. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has welcomed this move, stating that the completion of the Ring Metro is a historic milestone for the city.
