The Delhi government is taking significant steps to strengthen the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector, which serves as the backbone of the capital’s economy. Under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) scheme, the administration is focusing on empowering small traders, artisans, and manufacturers through advanced training. This initiative is being carried out in close cooperation with the Central Government to ensure that local businesses are equipped with the skills needed for modern commercial demands.
Digital Empowerment and Market Access for Small Businesses
A major highlight of this program is the integration of small businesses into the digital marketplace. Approximately 15,000 businesses are being connected to platforms such as the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) and the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC). This digital shift is designed to help small enterprises access government procurement contracts and reach a wider customer base online. The Ministry of MSME has also introduced the Trade Enablement and Marketing (TEAM) initiative to specifically support market access and e-commerce for these micro-units.
Training Targets and Budgetary Support for 2026-27
The Delhi Budget 2026-27 has introduced several financial allocations to support the growth of the MSME and startup sectors. The government aims to provide skill development and capacity building to 32,000 MSMEs across the city. To facilitate these goals, the administration has planned the following investments:
