Residents looking to transition from LPG to PNG must apply through Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL). The application process can be completed online via the official IGL website or at authorized offline centers. Applicants need to submit proof of identity, such as an Aadhaar card or PAN card, along with address proof like electricity bills or property tax receipts.

• Security Deposit: A refundable security deposit of approximately ₹7,000 is required for new domestic connections.
• Installation Timeline: Activation usually takes 7 to 15 days in areas with existing pipeline networks.
• Incentives: IGL is offering a ₹500 discount on the first bill for connections taken before the upcoming deadline.
• Tenant Rules: Tenants must provide a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their landlord along with the landlord’s ownership proof.

Under the Natural Gas and Petroleum Products Distribution Order 2026, a 90-day window has been set for residents to comply with the new rules. Once this period ends, LPG supplies will be discontinued for consumers in areas where PNG is technically feasible. Furthermore, new rules prohibit households with a functional PNG connection from keeping or refilling domestic LPG cylinders.
