The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has officially implemented new recruitment rules for the Delhi Police, offering significant benefits to ex-Agniveers. Under the recently amended rules, former Agniveers will now have a dedicated quota and relaxed entry requirements for the post of Constable (Executive). This move aims to integrate trained military personnel into the city police force while providing them stable post-service employment opportunities.

What are the new benefits for ex-Agniveers in Delhi Police recruitment?

Ex-Agniveers are now eligible for a 20% reservation in the recruitment of male Constable (Executive) positions. One of the most significant changes is the complete exemption from the Physical Efficiency Test (PET), making the selection process smoother for those who have already completed military training. Additionally, candidates will receive a standard age relaxation of three years. For the very first batch of Agniveers, this relaxation is extended to five years beyond the standard upper age limit of 25 years.

Key details of the recruitment rules and salary scale

The new rules, approved by Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena, came into force on March 27, 2026. These changes specifically target Group C Non-Gazetted posts within the Delhi Police. Selected candidates will serve a two-year probation period, and a reserve panel for recruitment will remain valid for one year. The integration of disciplined and experienced personnel is expected to strengthen the overall efficiency of the force.
