Deepak Soni, a jeweller from the Jalaun district of Uttar Pradesh, arrived in Delhi after being lured by an acquaintance with the promise of arranging jewellery. While he was near Ajmal Khan Park in the DBG Road area, the two accused police officers intercepted him. The victim was carrying a total of Rs 10.4 lakh in cash at the time. According to the investigation, the accused took the entire amount but later returned Rs 2 lakh to Soni, effectively robbing him of Rs 8.4 lakh.
