Panic gripped the national capital on Thursday morning as three prominent schools received bomb threats via email. The incident occurred on February 19, 2026, causing significant concern as students were appearing for their CBSE Class 12 board examinations. The Delhi Fire Service (DFS) and Delhi Police immediately responded to the situation, launching search operations to ensure the safety of students and staff.
Which schools were targeted in the threat?
According to the Delhi Fire Service, the control room received information regarding bomb threats at three specific locations in the morning. The school administrations immediately activated their emergency evacuation protocols to move students out of the buildings safely. Parents were notified through messages to collect their children as classes were suspended for the day.
The schools that received the threat emails include:
- CRPF Public School in Dwarka
- St. Thomas School in Dwarka
- DAV Centenary Public School in Paschim Enclave
Security agencies took no chances and deployed fire tenders and rescue teams to these locations within minutes of receiving the information.
What did the police investigation find?
The Delhi Police, along with the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) and dog squads, conducted a thorough search of the school premises. Official sources stated that no suspicious objects were found during the search, and the threats are currently being treated as a hoax. The authorities have warned that strict legal action will be taken against those spreading false rumors.
The Cyber Cell has started an investigation to trace the source of the emails. Investigators suspect that the sender used a Virtual Private Network (VPN) to mask their identity. This incident marks the third instance of mass bomb threats to Delhi schools in February 2026, following similar events on February 9 and 13. Police are looking into potential links with previous fake threats sent under the name of ‘Khalistan National Army’.
