A minor dispute over playing cricket turned fatal in West Delhi’s Tilak Nagar area on the evening of February 23. A 15-year-old boy lost his life following an altercation with three other minors in a local park. The police responded quickly to the situation and have apprehended all the accused involved in this tragic incident.

How the Fight Escalated in Woodland Park

The incident occurred around 7:22 PM at Woodland Park in Tilak Nagar. According to the investigation, the dispute started as a verbal argument between a 12-year-old boy and the 15-year-old victim over playing cricket. The situation intensified when the 12-year-old went home and returned with his two cousins, aged 13 and 17.

The three minors allegedly assaulted the victim during the confrontation. The physical altercation led to the 15-year-old boy collapsing on the spot. He was the son of a tea seller and one of four brothers. The sudden escalation from a playground argument to a fatal assault has shocked the local community.

Police Action and Legal Proceedings

The victim was immediately rushed to Deen Dayal Upadhyay (DDU) Hospital in an unconscious state. However, doctors declared him ‘brought dead’ upon arrival. The Tilak Nagar police station team acted swiftly and apprehended all three minors involved in the attack. Since the accused are underage, proceedings are being conducted under the Juvenile Justice (JJ) Act.

Police have registered an FIR and sent the body for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death, whether it was due to internal injuries or shock. Officers are also examining CCTV footage from around the park and recording statements from eyewitnesses to establish the exact sequence of events.
