Delhi is ready to get its first-ever cruise service on the Yamuna river starting from February 20, 2026. The first cruise vessel has already reached Sonia Vihar from Mumbai and is currently kept at the Sonia Vihar Sports Club. This project is a major step by the government to promote river tourism and it will be officially inaugurated by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta.
Route and Timing Details for Passengers
The cruise will operate on a specific route between Sonia Vihar and Jagatpur, which is near the Shani Mandir area. This stretch is located in the upper part of the Wazirabad barrage. The total distance for a round trip will be between 4 to 8 kilometers. Each journey is expected to take around one hour to complete. Before the public launch, the authorities will conduct a trial run on February 16 or 17 to ensure everything is working correctly.
