A heartbreaking and shameful incident has come to light at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport in New Delhi. A 69-year-old man, who was traveling from Rajasthan, passed away after suffering a heart attack at Terminal 3. To make matters worse for the grieving family, a diamond ring worth lakhs was allegedly stolen from the victim’s finger during the medical emergency.

What Happened at Terminal 3?

The incident took place on January 4, 2026, around 4:00 AM. The elderly man was part of a group tour heading to Baku, Azerbaijan. While waiting for his flight, he suddenly collapsed due to a severe heart attack. The airport medical team immediately rushed to the spot and performed CPR before shifting him to a nearby hospital. Unfortunately, doctors declared him dead upon arrival.

Family Claims Ring Removed During Chaos

The victim’s son, who had come to drop his parents at the airport, was waiting outside when he received the tragic news. Later, when the hospital handed over the body, the family noticed that the 5-carat diamond ring was missing from the elderly man’s finger. The son stated that clear ring marks were visible on the finger, proving it was removed recently. An FIR has now been registered at the Airport police station, and police are scanning CCTV footage to identify the culprit who took advantage of the chaotic situation.
