Incident During Medical Emergency
The incident occurred on the early morning of January 4, 2026. The elderly passenger was at the airport with his wife to board a flight to Baku, Azerbaijan. Around 4:00 AM, he suddenly collapsed in the departure area due to a heart attack. The airport’s medical team administered CPR and rushed him to the emergency facility, where he was declared dead. The police are now investigating the timeline of events between his collapse and the handover of the body.
Family Files FIR for Missing Ring
According to the victim’s son, the 5-carat diamond ring had been on his father’s finger for nearly 30 years and held immense sentimental value. While the airport authorities returned all other luggage and belongings, the ring was missing. The family noted a distinct mark on his finger where the ring used to be, and CCTV footage confirmed he was wearing it when he entered the terminal. A formal complaint was filed, and an FIR was registered on January 24 at the IGI Airport Police Station.
