A major fire broke out in the Mainapur Industrial Area on Meerut Road in Ghaziabad on the night of March 5, 2026. The fire department received the alert around 8:56 PM and immediately dispatched teams to the location. Chief Fire Officer (CFO) Rahul Kumar reached the spot to manage the situation as heavy smoke was seen coming from the factories.

What is the current status of the operation?
CFO Rahul Kumar informed that the fire affected a scrap warehouse and a nearby paint factory. The fire department sent a total of 20 fire tenders to the site to fight the blaze. By late night, the team managed to bring the fire in the scrap warehouse under control.
However, the fire in the paint factory took longer to handle because of the chemicals stored inside. Firefighters worked through the night and started cooling operations on the morning of March 6 to stop the fire from starting again.
Were there any injuries?
Officials have confirmed that there are no reports of injuries or casualties so far. The local police helped in clearing the area so that fire trucks could move easily. People travelling on Meerut Road were asked to be careful due to the movement of emergency vehicles.
