How did the police catch the accused so quickly?

The incident took place on the evening of February 19, 2026, when the child was playing outside her home. She went missing between 6:40 PM and 7:15 PM. Her worried parents searched for her and finally filed a missing person report at around 12:20 AM on Friday, February 20. Police teams immediately started scanning the CCTV cameras installed in the neighborhood.

The footage clearly showed Shivnath taking the girl away from the residential area. Based on this solid evidence, the police apprehended him shortly after. During questioning, he confessed to luring the child, committing the crime, and then strangling her to hide his identity. Following his confession, the police recovered the girl’s body around 2:00 AM from a shallow pit in an empty plot near Sector 37, which is about 4 km away from her home.
