What happened at the Fujairah terminal?

On March 14, 2026, the Fujairah Single Point Mooring terminal faced an attack while the Indian ship was loading its cargo. Oil-loading operations were briefly suspended due to drone attacks and fires but resumed by Sunday. Jag Laadki is the fourth Indian-flagged vessel to successfully leave the conflict region without any harm since late February. The government continues to closely monitor the maritime safety of Indian vessels in West Asia.

How many Indian ships are still in the region?

According to the Directorate General of Shipping, 22 Indian-flagged vessels carrying 611 seafarers remain in the western Persian Gulf. Officials at the DG Shipping Control Room are tracking their movement constantly. Along with Jag Laadki, two other LPG carriers named Shivalik and Nanda Devi have crossed the Strait of Hormuz safely. These ships are bringing around 92,712 MT of LPG and will reach Indian ports like Mundra and Kandla shortly.

Will this impact India fuel supply?

The safe arrival of these shipments ensures stable fuel supplies for the country. India imports nearly 88 percent of its crude oil and 60 percent of its LPG needs. The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas assured the public that domestic refineries are operating at high capacity. There is no shortage of petrol, diesel, or cooking gas in India despite the regional tensions in the Middle East.
