Residents of North East Delhi received a major boost in educational infrastructure on Monday, March 2, 2026. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and local Member of Parliament Manoj Tiwari inaugurated the temporary campus of the new Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV) in Khajuri Khas. Along with the opening of the temporary facility, the dignitaries performed the Bhoomi Pujan to officially start the construction of the permanent school building. This project aims to serve families in high-density areas who have demanded better central government schooling options for years.
Classes and Admission Rules for New Campus
The school has started its operations immediately from a temporary location near the Khajuri Khas Police Station. For the current academic cycle, the administration is accepting students for Classes I to V. This setup allows children to begin their studies while the larger permanent structure is being built.
- Admission Norms: All admissions follow the standard Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) guidelines.
- RTE Quota: Families living within a 5-km radius of the Khajuri Khas site are eligible to apply under the Right to Education (RTE) quota.
- Fee Structure: The fees will be significantly lower than private institutions, following Central Government norms to help common families.
Modern Education under CM SHRI Project-NEEV
Officials at the event emphasized that this new Kendriya Vidyalaya is not just about a building but about upgrading the quality of education. The school is being integrated into the CM SHRI Project-NEEV, a Delhi government initiative designed to modernize school infrastructure. MP Manoj Tiwari stated that this school fulfills a long-standing demand of the constituency.
Cabinet ministers Ashish Sood and Kapil Mishra were also present to support the initiative. The leadership reiterated that this step will curb the monopoly of private schools regarding arbitrary fee hikes. By following the vision of PM Narendra Modi, the administration aims to provide technology-based learning opportunities to every child in the region.
