How did the police rescue the trapped guests?

Thick smoke and high flames trapped several guests on the upper floors of the four-storey building. Police personnel from the Nabi Karim station, including Constables Feru, Sanjay, and Mukul, acted swiftly. They climbed onto the roof and balconies of the adjacent Hotel Chanchal to reach the victims. The team managed to rescue eight people safely. Some guests were panicking and trying to jump from the balconies, but the officers reached them in time. Two guests were even pulled out after officers broke down the doors of their rooms where they were sleeping.

What caused the fire and how many were injured?

Initial reports suggest that an electrical short circuit at the reception area on the ground floor started the fire. The blaze spread rapidly through the hotel. Three people sustained burn injuries during the incident. One victim named Vinod is in critical condition with severe burns, while two others, Vasant Kumar and Hitesh Kumar, suffered minor injuries. All injured persons were immediately rushed to Ram Manohar Lohia and Lok Nayak hospitals for treatment. Police have registered a case and are investigating the fire safety norms at the hotel.
