Noida residents dealing with electricity bill issues can finally breathe a sigh of relief. The Pashchimanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (PVVNL) has decided to open two new billing offices in the district this month. This move aims to reduce the heavy rush at the main Sector 18 office and provide services closer to home for consumers living in distant areas like Greater Noida West.
Where are the new offices located?
According to the electricity department officials, the two new billing offices will start functioning in Noida Sector 23 and Greater Noida West (Greno West) within this month. The department has already operationalized three offices in Dadri, Jewar, and Dankaur last month to assist consumers from rural belts.
Currently, the entire billing responsibility lies with the Executive Engineer stationed at Sector 18. This centralized system, introduced under the Urban Restructuring Plan, forced people to travel 30 to 60 kilometers just to correct minor bill errors. The opening of these local centers will save time and money for thousands of residents.
Staff availability and services offered
To ensure that consumer problems are solved without delay, the department has made specific arrangements for staff at these new centers:
- Permanent Staff: Junior Engineers (JE) and clerks will be available at the centers daily to handle routine queries.
- Senior Officers: Assistant Engineers (AE) will sit at these offices on scheduled days to resolve complex cases.
Data shows that the district receives over 10,000 billing-related complaints every month. Many consumers, especially from rural areas, prefer visiting the office physically instead of using the 1912 helpline. These decentralized offices will help in quicker resolution of issues related to bill correction, meter faults, and load changes.
